Head Coach Ron Ence just completed his 8th year as the girl’s varsity coach. His teams have compiled a record of 144 wins and 39 losses. His accomplishments at Riverton include 5 region championships, 2 final four appearances and a trip to the championship game 2009. While in high school, he was a 1st Team All-State selection as well as a 1st Team All-Conference pick in college. He has coached boy’s junior varsity teams at both Dixie and Skyline high schools. He is one of the few players in the country to have played in the NJCAA, NIT, and the NCAA basketball tournaments.Ron is a graduate of Olympus High, Dixie State College and Utah State University. He recently completed his Masters of Education degree. He spent 20 years working as a sales manager for several companies before completing his teaching certification. He currently teaches Lifetime Fitness and other physical education classes here at Riverton. He is married to Tonya Fuhriman and has 3 children, Chase, Aliska, and Karliann. He spends his summers teaching basketball camps, umpiring softball for Salt Lake County and hiking. |
Coach Lee joined the Riverton coaching staff in 2010. Prior to Riverton she spent 3 years as an assistant at Cottonwood High School. Coach Lee played her high school basketball in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia where she was a first-team all region and second-team all state point guard. After high school she played basketball and softball at Southern Virigina University. She received a BA in Recreation Managment from SVU and following graduation immediately left to serve an LDS mission in Helsinki, Finland. Coach Lee is married to Michael Lee and together they have a daughter, Kayhlen and a son, Daxten. Coach Lee is currently employed in the most difficult yet rewarding job on the earth...a full time mom! |
Sophomore Coach Mike Johnson has been a head coach for boys and girls teams on the high school level for 26 years in both Utah and Alaska. During that span his win/loss record is an amazing 453-157! His team’s success stems from the ability to disrupt his opponents comfort zone with a variety of pressure defenses. He demands his players to practice hard, play hard and always respect the game.In 1968 Mike served our country in Vietnam as a United States Marine. A few years later in 1976 he was a member of the U. S. Paralympics Team in Toronto Canada in which he competed and medaled. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University. While attending school there he met his wife Jan. He has 8 children and a ‘bunch’ of grandkids. |
