The off season for teams doesn’t mean the end of practicing and working out. All the athletes both in the UHSAA and club sports like hockey still work out all year round.
The lacrosse team has both a fall and spring team when players work out and practice for games. They are advised to keep working out and stay in shape for the next season.
Football practices and trains all year. When the season ends in November, all the athletes are required to enroll in power lifting and is advised to join other sports.
“We encourage them to join other sports to keep their grades up and keep them in shape.” Said coach Darin Beierle. Football players are encouraged to try out for baseball, track, wrestling, etc.
The Hockey team here at RHS also has a year round work out.
“We only get about a 2 week off season till we start up in a summer league. That goes until our normal season,” said player Giles Sims, senior.
The players also attend dry land, which is practice off the ice, and ice practices over the summer and during the hockey season.
“They are expected to stay in shape and work out on their own,” said Coach Emily Bateman.
