Student’s Photo Featured in National Art Show

By Amy Plitt

Out of 840,000 art entries, RHS ’09 alumni, Travis Pendleton’s photo was chosen to be placed on the National AP poster.

Pendleton’s picture, along with 29 other AP art and photography students will be part of a traveling art show, visiting major cities throughout the country this year.

Pendleton is currently attending Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) , for a photo degree, and is planning on transferring to Brigham Young University (BYU) , to pursue his career in photography.

“I was reading about photography literally everyday that year. I didn’t go a day without doing something photo related,” said Travis Pendleton.

The students entered collections of their best photographs showing how much their knowledge has grown over the years. The students are asked to come up with an area of concentration for their work and also an essential question. The question will need to be answered in different ways shown only by their photographs.

He is the second RHS AP photography student of Kris Lindorff to be chosen out of the 35,000 student portfolios that are entered every year.
