Comprehensive Guidance Mission
The
Mission of the Riverton High School
Comprehensive Counseling & Guidance Program is to empower all students with the knowledge
and skills they need to prepare for a productive life and find success in ways that maintain dignity and respect for themselves and others in a changing
world. Our program is designed to address the developmental
needs of students appropriate to their age group in the areas of self-knowledge,
educational and occupational exploration, and career planning.
RHS Welcomes a new
Counselor, Jenn Winter, to our staff from Joel P. Jensen!! Jenn will
provide counseling services to students whose last names are A - Caro!!!

RHS History & Guidance
Model
The Riverton High School's Counseling and Guidance
Center is a state-approved Comprehensive Guidance Center. Riverton's last
Comprehensive Guidance Performance Site Review was conducted in March of 2009.
Riverton's Comprehensive Guidance Counseling Center received nearly a perfect
score for overall standards in Comprehensive Guidance, and has been considered
an "Ideal Model" for other high schools state wide.
Riverton High School is located in the
Southwest quadrant of Jordan School District. The community is primarily
comprised of suburban residential neighborhoods, and consists of an industrial,
business, agricultural, and farming community. Riverton High School is the
newest of Jordan District's high schools, and opened in
1999. Riverton draws from all economic levels, with a highly
involved community, parents, and business partnerships, such as Intel.

Hours:
7:00 am to 3:00 pm
on all regular school days.
The Guidance Center is also
open on extended days during August to help assist with accommodating students'
schedules and registration. Students and parents are encouraged to schedule an
appointment with their counselor.
