Career Center - Career & Technical Education (CTE) Explore a multitude of Career and Technical Education classes and programs by stopping by Riverton's Career Center. Receive guidance and advising on everything from Jordan Applied Tech Center Programs (i.e., BioTechnology, Dental Assisting, Information Technology, Aviation, Cosmetology, etc...) to military, two year colleges, four year colleges, graduate programs, professional/doctoral degrees, work release, job opportunities, and internships. Students can begin building essential Career and Technical Education skills which provide for greater job opportunities and advancement. Hours: The Career Center computer lab is available before and after school and anytime in-between from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contact: Mary Smith or Janet Dimond at 256-5859. ________________________________________________________ Online Career Preparatory Programs UtahMentor.org is Utah's premier (free) online web utility that helps high school students explore careers, plan for college, apply online, and pay for college. UtahMentor offers a variety career interest inventories that can be used to assist students with career and post-secondary education choices. Students can research careers by interest, key word, by career cluster, educational level, and/or salary. UtahMentor is financially sponsored and supported in partnership by the Utah System of Higher Education, UHEAA, the Utah State Office of Education, Workforce Services, and the statewide GEARUP program. Log on to UtahMentor.org to take an interest, personality, work values, or learning style assessment, and match with career options. Choices Planner is another online utility which Riverton High School students can utilize when planning for post high school educational and career options. Choices can be access by clicking on the "Choices" icon within the UtahMentor website. Students must create a portfolio to use Choices features.
