ACT - American College Test Congratulations to ACT 30+ Club Members of the Class of 2009! Jesse Burlingame, Nathan Burton, Ryan Carlsen, Stephanie Emch, Austin Gamblin, Joseph Jepson, Jessica Johnson, Stephanie Lofgreen, Rebecca Lott, Sarah Mousley, James O'Bray, Christopher Olsen, Stephen Reed, Aaron Taylor, and Sam White Special Congratulations to Ryan Carlsen, who scored a PERFECT 36, and to Sam White who scored a 35!! Students who are interested in attending a post-secondary institution are encouraged to register and take the ACT (American College Test). The ACT is required for some 4-year schools for admissions. Scores are also used for course placement at colleges, and is factored into many merit based scholarships. Juniors are encouraged to take the ACT during the April and June test dates, and Seniors during the October and December exam dates, to receive test scores prior to collegiate admissions and scholarship deadlines. Colleges use a student's ACT and GPA in determining an admissions index score, used for both admissions criteria and many merit based scholarships. ACT Test Prep Options 1) Riverton HS offers ACT Online Prep. This program has replaced the ACT Prep Classes which have been offered in the past. It is the only Internet-based test prep program created by the developers of the ACT and includes practice tests, practice for the optional Writing Test, comprehensive content review sections, and a personalized study plan. Students may access the program via the internet. It is free to Riverton High School students and 9th graders in our feeder schools. Students can access tutorials, learn about test strategies, take sample questions, use a vocabulary builder, and timed exams.
