Riverton High School Drama/Thespian Club

Purpose

The purpose of this club is to provide opportunities outside of the theatre class for students to participate in theatre activities and events, to socialize with other students in the program, to make Riverton High School more aware of the theatre program and its productions, and to contribute to the school-wide service activities. The Riverton High School Drama/Thespian Club is also an International Thespian Society Troupe sponsor. The purpose of the international service organization is to increase in students the personal skills and knowledge of theatre arts by recognizing their achievements in theatre and by providing learning opportunities.

Meetings

Club officers meet monthly after school. Activities are held every 1-2 months.

Activities

The Drama/Thespian Club members will be involved in attending performances of plays, participating in the Utah High School Shakespeare competition, competing in Region III and State drama competitions, attending the Utah Theatre Association conferences, having social gatherings for members of the club, providing service to the theatre programs of other high schools by hosting opening night receptions for their productions, and participating in Riverton High School service activities.

Membership

Active members shall be Riverton High School students taking marketing classes.

Officers

President - Oversees all officers and serves as club membership specialist.
Vice-President of Activities - Oversees planning and execution of club socials and activities.
Vice-President of Records/History - Oversees keeping a written and visual record of club socials and activities.
Vice-President of Public Relations - Oversees publicity of the club and its activities and works to make the Theatre Department more visible to the school.
Junior Officer/Secretary - Oversees including lower classmen in club activities and keeps notes of meetings.

Funds

There are no fees required to join the Riverton High School Drama Club. There is a one-time induction fee for students who choose to become an official member of the Intern atonal Thespian Society. This induction fee is paid directly to the International Thespian Society and the Educational Theatre Association.
