| A team comprised of Nathan Burton, Ryan Carlsen and Sam White won the Physics Bowl competition at Lagoon. Each received Presidential Scholarships to Utah State, a four year full tuition scholarship. |
| Brady Craig and Kendall Schouten won the AAA/Ford Auto Skills Contest. Brady and Kendall will travel to Dearborn, Michigan to compete against teams from every state in the national contest June 14-16. |
Aubrie Haymore was named the Outstanding Female Athlete at the |
| Stephanie Goodwin was named Academic Allstate in Track. She was also awarded the Riverton City Choice Award. |
Aubrie Haymore set a new 100-Meter Dash State Record. |
| Sophomore Shawn Bennett took first place in a State Trap Shoot meet. He shot 249 out of 250, including a run of 244 hits in a row. |
| The following RHS art students have won cash and other prizes, including 'Best of Show' in various art shows throughout the state: John Rogers, Jeff Griffin, Kayla Fayerweather, Dani Spencer, Parker McCormick and Stephanie Emch. |
| Riverton students won 30 awards, 6 Gold, 19 Silver, 5 Bronze at the FCCLA State competition. The FCCLA winners are Elilsabeth Anderson, Marisa Andrews, Richel Aratari, Sumera Awan, Shelby Bounds, Christi Coats, Kendra Davis, Jorey Dixon, Melinda Downs, Emi Exeter, Kyra Gaillard, Amber Garfield, Diedra Ha, Brittany Hunter, Jessica Jaynes, Courtney Leavitt, McKenna Maxwell, Megan Mitchell, Ashley Ockler, Ashley Park, Shay Payne, Dailee Perucci, Kelli Quillen, Derrick Rougeau, Gia Rushton, Autumn Sims, Whitney Sirrine, Emily Thompson, and Colette Whitaker. |

| First Place and Grand Champ awards were given to the RHS Silverline at the Nationals in Anaheim, CA |
| Stephanie Goodwin won the Douglas F. Bates Community Service Award in the Sterling Scholar Program |

Dani Lockhart and Alle Finch were named to the Deseret News Girls Basketball 5A First Team. Dani averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. Alle averaged 8 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game |
Jason Buss won the Utah State American Legion Oratorical Competition. He will be going on to a National Convention in Indianapolis to compete in the National Competition |

| Gayle Whitefield was named the Jordan Education Foundation RHS Outstanding Educator of the year |
| LeAnna Willmore was awarded the Golden Apple award from the State of Utah PTA |

Possessing a Facsimile of a Weapon May Result in 180-day Suspension from School |
Poseer un facsímil de una arma puede resultar en 180-días de suspención |
| Students and parents are reminded that a new federal law prohibits the use or possession of a weapon or a facsimile of a weapon on school premises. The most popular facsimile of weapons to date include the popular Air-soft guns. The law is very clear that students possessing a facsimile of a weapon at school, regardless of intent, may be suspended for 180 days. | Estudiantes y padres, recuérdense que una nueva ley federal prohibe el uso o posesión de una arma o facsímil de una arma en los locales escolares. El más popular facsímil de una arma hoy día incluye la arma popular que se llama “Air-soft guns”. La ley es muy clara que estudiantes que poseen una facsímil de una arma en la escuela, a pesar del intento, puede ser suspendido por 180 días. |
